Installation & Training Engineer - Materials Testing A worldwide provider of testing instrumentation established for over 30 years, due to succession planning and an increased demand in the markets they serve are now looking for an additional Installation & Training Engineer to join their existing technical team based in Hertfordshire. Reporting into the Technical Manager, the successful individual will be 50% of the time based in the office and 50% of the time travelling to customer sites predominantly throughout East, West and South Africa and to a lesser extent UK and Northern Europe and will be responsible for unpacking, positioning and installation of a range of basic simple laboratory equipment up to more advanced computer controlled systems; providing training and demonstrating the use of testing equipment to operators on a wide range of materials used within the construction industry as well as provide technical support to clients on a wide range of technical issues. The client is looking for individuals who are qualified to at least HNC standard or above within Engineering, Construction, Science or a related discipline; have previous experience of testing materials used within the construction industry such as soil, concrete, asphalt, cement, aggregates, steel or plastics preferably within a commercial testing laboratory; have a good basic understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrics, electronics and software and proficient in the use of MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Individuals must also possess strong communication and customer facing skills; be comfortable interacting with people on both a 1-1 and a group basis to deliver customer training as well as be comfortable with travelling alone overseas. This position is offering a basic salary in the region of £23,000 - £26,000 + Bonus of up to £5,000, contributory pension scheme, 25 days holiday + bank, private healthcare, mobile phone with personal usage and childcare vouchers where applicable.
