Confirmation of Vacancy 4055PP Job Title: Test Technician Reporting to: Production Manager (taking daily instructions from the Test Team Leader) Essential Qualifications & Skills: - Electrical Engineering City & Guilds Level 1&2&3 or HNC/HND or Electrical degree (this can include Electronics but should not solely be Electronics based) - 17th Edition Certified - Extensive recent experience of 3 phase industrial environments - Ability to interpret panel built electrical components - Previous experience of using schematics (or an understanding of schematics - ability to read drawings) - Ability to fault find, interpret the results and problem solve - Must speak clear fluent English (including technical vocabulary) Advantageous Skills: Uploading software, and updates, to the touch screen HMI units. We use in house designed software programmes and upload via the development tools on Siemens/Mitsubishi type products Knowledge of PCBs & PLCs Training You will be given training in the factory to gain knowledge of components, assembly (electrical/electronic and mechanical), repairs and refurbishments, product testing, analysis and fault-finding skills. You will then carry out the full testing process of all products, prior to them being despatched worldwide. Assembly skills Light mechanical & electrical/electronic assembly as required from time to time Job description - Setting up the systems for simulated test runs. - Once trained, responsibility for the full testing procedures of drying systems presented to the Test Department (both production and R&D purposes). - Measuring & recording information using a variety of instruments including air pressure, temperature, voltage, current, sensors following the quality test checks. - Calibration of systems within the control specification and tolerances. - Analysis and fault-finding skills when systems fail to operate as specified. Using problem solving skills to identify and rectify faults. - Ensure the results match the required standards. Take responsibility to report non-conformance and, if necessary, request help from the technical department accordingly. - Recording test results accurately and meticulously (may involve the use of computer and data logging system. - Light assembly / repair tasks if required. - Occasional service / installation visits on site at customer's premises (once trained - if required) - Maintaining a neat, tidy and safe work area. It is essential that the safety procedures are adhered to at all times within the Test Department. Tools & Clothing All necessary tools and safety equipment are provided. Uniform provided - including safety shoes. Remuneration package Basic annual salary for 39.5 hrs per week - £27 - £28,000 Hours of work: Monday: 12:45 - 17:15 Tuesday - Friday: 08:00 - 17:15 Although over-time within this role is not frequent, O/T is at 1.5 basic hourly rate (over 39.5 basic hrs per week). Overtime, when required, is worked Monday mornings, earlier starts / later finishes. Occasional weekend work is offered. Pension upon joining the company Life assurance, after qualifying probationary period (6 months) Private healthcare and increased pension contributions after further qualifying period (2-3 years) 33 days holiday, inclusive of UK Bank holidays - per calendar year.
