We are looking for an Automation Engineer with good Automation/Instrumentation engineering experience for a permanent position in Cheshire. Salary up to circa £38-39,000 per annum plus Car and Fuel Card, overtime, 25 days holiday plus statutory, Pension and Healthcare. Working as the successful Automation Engineer, you will have an apprenticeship or HNC in an appropriate subject as a minimum, or have equivalent experience. In the role you will be part of the small projects team and have an excellent troubleshooting ability, great customer relation and documentation skills. Knowledge of the Food & Beverage Industry or similar would be an advantage, however this is not essential. The role includes: - Programming and fault finding knowledge Siemens S7/S5 and Allen Bradley CLX - Excellent knowledge of Visualization systems (WinCC/ Intouch/iFix, WinCCFlex) - Excellent knowledge of automation and instrumentation process - Excellent knowledge of industrial networks (e.g. profibus/As-i/Ethernet/ControlNet) - Knowledge of using STl, IL languages and indirect addressing in Siemens platforms - Good knowledge of MS Office - Good knowledge of English - Very good process technology knowledge - Excellent time keeping skills and willingness to write reports - Good Knowledge of technical writing - Excellent fault finding and trouble shooting skills - Experience of technical pre-sales and technical quotation writing. The role includes the possible requirement to work evenings and weekends (on call conditions); you need a clean driving license, an understanding of transducers and field instrumentation and the willingness to learn and attend training courses. Duties include: - Good Cuctomer Service skills - Writing of project documentation - Project commissioning - Writing, specification, and testing of automation software both PLC and HMI/SCADA Supporting documentation for PLC, HMI, and SCADA modifications for modifications to existing customers sites - Writing, specification, and testing of automation software both PLC and HMI/SCADA Supporting documentation for PLC, HMI, and SCADA modifications for modifications to new & existing customers sites - Project documentation - Project commissioning - and training of customers and GEA staff - Advising the customer on possible technical/technological developments, service opportunities and optimisation possibilities You will also have the willingness to travel (UK), to participate in an on call rota (paid) to provide support for customers, to regularly update reporting manager on your status and you need to be happy to work either as part of a team or unsupervised on site.
