We provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.  About the role  Ty Perthyn is a Day Support Service based in Ammanford, South West Wales with a maximum capacity for 10 guests. An opportunity has arisen to recruit a talented manager to shape the performance and growth of Ty Perthyn Day Support Service.  Ty Perthyn provides care and support for a person with dementia during the day in a safe and comfortable environment. This service gives users an opportunity to meet and mix with others, stimulation through social contact and meaningful activities, and an opportunity to pursue personal hobbies and social activities.  This is a role of considerable variety, influence and creativity. Working in the role of Day Support Manager you will be responsible for the overall management of this service using your expertise to ensure that our trained staff and volunteers give people living with dementia excellent support, opportunities to enjoy activities and encourage independence.  In addition to developing and leading a dedicated team, you will conduct needs-led assessments and design tailored support plans. You will also ensure that we meet all quality standards and regulatory requirements. Other key tasks will include managing budgets, maintaining accurate records and developing positive relationships with the families of our guests as well as working collaboratively and liaising across departments and with partner organisations.  About you  To be successful in this role you will need to be a well-motivated, resourceful and creative person with excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a busy service environment. You will have demonstrable experience of managing a team. Ideally you will possess an in-depth understanding of the needs of people affected by dementia as well as qualifications at NVQ level 3 or above (or equivalent). Experience of working in a care setting and in the voluntary sector is desirable. You must be able to travel independently within the area.  Just as important will be your personal attributes, including empathy, creativity, the ability to communicate clearly and above all kindness.
