At Ty Hapus we provide support to people diagnosed with many different forms of dementia and often meet people at the early onset stage and support them through the progression of the disease. As a result close bonds are made with the person living with the dementia as well as with their families and friends. As a Deputy Manager you will work with the Day Support Manager to ensure the smooth running of the day centre. You will be required to be responsible and accountable for the day support service that our guests living with dementia receive and for the centre management in the absence of the manager. There will be a requirement to work additional hours/days to cover the managers’ annual leave for which an additional payment will be made. This is a very practical role in which you will be required to provide direct support to the people using the centre whilst at the same time offering guidance, support, supervision and instruction to the staff team.Ty Hapus gives people affected by dementia the opportunity to meet and mix with others, receive stimulation through social contact and by engaging in meaningful activities. As the deputy manager you will need to lead, suggest and implement new ideas, ensuring people attending Ty Hapus receive the service they want and expect. About youA friendly personality and a ‘Have a go, can do‘ upbeat attitude is always welcome. You should have an understanding of the needs of people affected by dementia and in particular be able to consider what impact a Young onset Dementia diagnoses might have on the person affected and their family. Ideally you will experience of supporting people affected by dementia.Experience of leading or supervising others would be an advantage.
