Our client is a large IT centric organisation based in Amsterdam. The environment consisting of over 7000 servers locally and 28,000 globally is very diverse. They are an AWS environment however also use a large number of legacy servers including Unix servers like Solaris. Alongside the vast server environment the company also boast a large complex network. The team in which this role sits is currently undergoing growth. They look after a range of different servers performing a variety of tasks. Currently the team stands at 9 engineers but will soon grow to 15. The role is a very diverse function. There is a large migration planned to switch all old Solaris Servers over to the more Devops based platform. Not only managing the large number of Unix servers performing installations, designs, troubleshooting and migrations. The team look after 15 engineered systems consisting of Oracle Exadata, Exalogic and more. Another part of the role is Zpool Migrations and working with Zones and LDoms. Key Skills: - Strong Command of Unix servers. - Previous Experience with Solaris Servers, Migration experience preferable. - Familiarity with RedHat and VMware. - Understand the Legacy technology. - Knowledge of Zones and LDoms. Secondary Skills: - Writing playbooks in Ansible - Experience in Zpool Migrations - Familiarity with Engineers Systems Soft Skills: - Problem solving abilities. - Very clear verbal communication skills - Creative with solutions, not asking for direction every step of the way. - The ability to think on your feet.
