Applications Support Analyst

Spring Technology are currently working in partnership with a major service provider to recruit an Applications Support Analyst for their Shared Service Centre in Jarrow!

The role is paying £21,000 per annum + pension + annual leave + excellent company specific benefits!

The Company
You will be working for one of the most recognisable brands in the UK who, as part of their major operations, provide services to the Public Sector in a shared service environment.

The Role
*To be an effective member of a team that maintains, supports and updates the Shared Service solution application stack.
*To help deliver excellent application support services through best practice processes and systems to the internal Shared Services Team and to multiple clients in a Shared Services environment with responsibility for meeting rigorous service level requirements and providing excellent customer service.

The Responsibilities
*Application Support, maintenance and on-going administration
*Assist in the change, release & deployment management processes providing application technical knowledge and expertise in the creation and submission of change requests, change evaluation, release planning and implementation
*Assist in support of Knowledge Management by documenting application management related knowledge articles, local work instructions, system configuration, operational and user manuals and ensuring that they are up to date and properly utilised
*Assist in Problem Management in undertaking diagnosis and resolution of problems
*Supporting access management by maintaining application specific access rights and undertaking creation, deletion and modification of application user accounts whilst ensuring access controls are maintained, regularly monitored and reviewed in conjunction with security policies
*Assist in Availability, Capacity and Continuity management processes including application sizing and performance, load testing
*Assist in engagement and liaison with third party suppliers of hardware and software hosting services

The Requirements

*Computer related degree
*Knowledge of ITIL
*Ability to demonstrate a strong customer focus and a passion for quality service
*Working knowledge of Citrix
*Experience of delivery support services to large and complex customer organisations
*Working knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems including Windows 7 / 8 and Windows 2003 / 2008 server
*Experience troubleshooting and using Remote Access tools
*In-depth knowledge of SQL Server and the ability to create and manipulate SQL
*Networking Experience (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VoIP)
