This is a home based role and can be performed from anywhere in the UK. My client, a not for profits member association for digital business is looking for a Configuration Manager. The client works with some 900+ member companies (including Telecoms service providers, IT vendors and others) to design best processes and practices for architecture and products launches. Currently they are looking for an accomplished individual with Configuration Management and Project Management experience who is passionate about industry collaboration to help build a library of digital assets and enable us to expose these assets as live services. You will work with leading global telecom, IT and service company professionals in cross-functional teams to help manage and implement digital assets to deliver the company'svision and strategy. Specific Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for the end to end release delivery for Open APIs as well as planning capacity in line with release schedules. Working with the collaborative teams to ensure delivery against the agreed Configuration Management requirements and Open API project plans. Ensuring the configuration management requirements are well communicated and known across the collaboration teams. Executing the implementation, ensuring that the Jira system is consistently up to date in line with the work of the Open API project teams and the Open API Governance process, including ensuring that the reporting is an accurate reflection of all the development status past and future. Day-to-day operations of the Configuration Management with the primary function being to deliver all Open API assets in line with the agreed process for configuration and naming. Ensuring that the assets are exposed as agreed by the team leaders, via tools such as Atlassian Confluence & git hub. That the exposed assets are accurate and reflect status. Working under the guidance of the Chief API Architect exposing these assets as live services in a lab environment. Job Duties: - Working with collaborative project teams to deliver all Open APIs in accordance with the Open API governance process - Ensure configuration management requirements and change management requirements are well known and understood by all members of the Open API project team - Manage requirements, contributions and change requests traceability through the Jira system - Responsible for delivery against the project release schedule - Hosting any required release planning meetings - Ensuring the release schedule is up to date and clearly communicated to all relevant stakeholders - Report on the adherence to the release plan and quality of deployments - Working proactively with the Collaboration Teams and publishing each assets as agreed by the Open API project team leaders - Creating containers / dockers for releasing of Open API assets - Exposing Open API assets as live services on a hosted environment - Ensure consistent release naming and numbering structures across all assets - Ensure consistent management of the Open API catalogue - Consistently drive to ensure all Jira records are managed in a timely manner, maintaining the Jira system and the extracted reports as the single source of truth of status of all development work of Open APIs and their dependencies - Publish these reports as agreed by the Open API team leaders - Creating dockers / containers for the exposure of related assets - Managing an online hosted environment - Impact assessment for configuration baselines changes Skill Requirements: To succeed in this role, post holders are likely to have a proven track record in most of: - 5 years competence in configuration management & technical project management - Experienced with Confluence & Jira essential - Experience in an API Software environment - Suitable candidates will have worked with a software house environment - or similar. - Desired: Experience of working with technologies such as; Enterprise Architect, Papyrus, Casewise, Rational Rose/UML
