Seismic Data Processing Engineer - Geophysics - Matlab required to join leading developer of optical fibre sensors, You will be working on projects involving in-well flow surveillance using distributed fibre optical sensors and Vertical Seismic Profile (VSP) processing. My client is looking for an energetic and dedicated individual with excellent IT and communication skills. The Seismic Data Processing Engineer should have the ability to conduct independent research while also contributing to team-oriented projects. The role requires someone who can process and manage large complex seismic data sets for commercial and development projects. The Seismic Data Processing Engineer will be processing surface and borehole seismic data in SEGY - SEGD formats, and merging data with GIS information. Ideally you should have a degree, MSc preferred or research background in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, GIS or similar scientific - physics related degree. Ideally you should have some training or experience of data processing or QC of seismic data. You should be a proficient Matlab user who can identify trends and information from large data sets and be able to create reports for clients. Knowledge of signal processing, machine learning, algorithm development and tools such as LabView or VSProwess would also be of interest.
