Mechanical & Hydraulics Design Engineer £35,000 - £45, 000 Basic Salary + Very Competitive Package The Company My client is leading supplier of hydraulic and precision engineered products. Their commitment to quality, flexibility and fast turnaround has led them to become a highly respected name among worldwide on and off-highway vehicle manufacturers and OEMs, aftermarket organisations and military buyers. Among their product range they manufacture automotive components and precision engineered parts as well as the re-manufacture of hydraulic equipment and mechanical units. All their products are manufactured or re-manufactured to Original Equipment standards. They have a highly skilled workforce is split across two factories on our 4,500m² site - one dedicated to manufacturing, the other focused solely on re-manufacturing. They produce bespoke one off units through to bulk overs of 5000 plus. These skills are a prerequisite for this position: GD&T - Hydraulics - 3D Design (ideally Solidworks) - DFMEA - Project Engineering - Engineering Principals Key Responsibilities: - Design from customer expectations, producing 3D CAD Models and detailed drawings - Use of engineering principals such as mechanical & structural constraints, geometric tolerance and appropriate material selection. - DFMEA and DV report writing - BoM writing (into our in house ERP system) - Reverse engineering / strip analysis report writing for our re-manufactured range of products - ''hands-on" design, incorporating both inspection and assembly - Customer facing: presentation of Engineering solutions - Analysing engineering data and evaluating the results The ideal candidate shall be able to demonstrate experience in the following: - An excellent understand of 3D CAD Software (Solidworks 3D as a preference) - Degree educated in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (will accept an HNC/HND if you have relevant industry experience) - Understanding of the fundamentals of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps and valves and their applications - Experience/understanding of machining methods and principles - Proven track record working from concept to completion - Problem solving skills - Ambitious character traits with a "can do" attitude and drive to embrace and promote company vision goals & expectations - Embrace and promote the culture of continuous improvement - Excellent communication skills, written and verbal - Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications - Excellent organisational, literacy and numeracy skills - Can work as part of a team or on his own initiative - The ability to read, write and understand English To apply for the Mechanical/Hydraulic Design Engineer job please send your CV to or call Guy Osborne on ************* / *********** / ******************.
