Linux Systems Engineer Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum Based in: City of London - Cannon Street Tube Station Amelco are a Fast-Growing Technology Company providing trading solutions to three of the UK's top online gaming companies while delivering market leading sportsbook development including automated, algorithmic sports betting trading solutions. JOB BRIEF: In an effort to improve process and drive efficiency within infrastructure Amelco are looking to hire a Linux Systems Engineer to work within the Infrastructure Operations Team. You will be a forward thinking, open-source focused individual with a passion for technology and the continuous improvement of infrastructure processes. Working in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities you will be able to manage your own workload in line with Agile working methods as well as contributing to team projects. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Work to automate deployment, update and maintenance tasks - Assist the team in responding to incidents - Assist the team in proactive infrastructure maintenance - 3rd line support for Service desk and Developers - On-call support participation REQUIREMENTS - Strong knowledge of Ubuntu: build, configure, deploy and troubleshoot - Proficient with VMware - Good bash/python scripting skills - Experience with Ansible or similar - Experience with Administering applications Servers, servlet containers and web Servers (Apache Tomcat, Jetty, Nginx, Apache HTTP server) - Open-source focused DESIRABLE - Experience with Java app administration - Zabbix or other monitoring tools experience ON-CALL HOURS Our shift rotation patterns are listed below: - Core hours Monday - Friday 8.30AM - 6.00PM. - 1 Saturday a month 10 - 5 (Day off in lieu). - 8 on call's a month this consists of taking an office mobile home. *This will not be until after 3 months training and can be discussed at interview should you require further clarity.
