Redrock Consulting are currently recruiting for a Communications and Engagement Lead for Childrens Services based in Gloucestershire paying up to £300 per day for 6 months.

You Will:
Be counsel and adviser on communications, engagement, public affairs, marketing, reputation and brand activities to the director of children's services, lead cabinet member, chair of the improvement board, chair of the Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children's Board, other senior officers and elected members.
Develop, lead on and ensure the delivery of a proactive internal and external communications and engagement plan to support the children and families outcomes and priorities outlined in the Ofsted improvement plan.
Develop and champion a vision, values and brand for the children and families service, inline with the council's corporate and place vision, values and brand.
Support the development of strategic policy and plans (including the children and young people's plan); make or recommend decisions that ensure there is an understanding of customers, communities, staff and both the children and families service and wider council's reputation.
Support a robust approach to consultation and engagement to drive effective policy making and commissioning.
Work with staff, partners and the community to change behaviour and manage demand.
Be accountable for the effective management of budgets to ensure measurable return on investment.
Commission support and services internally and externally to deliver the children and families communication and engagement plan.
Anticipate and coordinate responses to stakeholder queries and freedom of information requests including those from media.
Work alongside the council's corporate communications team to develop and deliver the council's annual campaigns plan; make an effective contribution to the communications and engagement activity that supports the council's outcomes and priorities.
Develop and evaluation communications and engagement channels for our children and families' workforce inclusion providers.
Work closely with human resources and organisational development teams to develop and lead activity to support the workforce recruitment and retention strategy.
Identify communications and engagement activity developed for children and families service that could be rolled out council wide; contribute to the coordination and evaluation of that roll-out.

You will need the following:

Minimum of 5 years working in strategic communications within a political environment.
Proven track record of developing, leading and delivering innovative, integrated communications and engagement campaigns with defined objectives and evaluation.
Ability to influence the media agenda through proactive forward planning.
Ensure effective mix of channels and maximise the use of digital.
Experience of issues management in complex organisation.
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Ability to plan and prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
Highly resilient to changing demands and priorities in a pressurised environment.
Able to influence, persuade and motivate at all levels.
Experience of budget and contract management.
Educated to degree level or equivalent.
Membership of professional body.
