We are currently looking for highly customer-focused and enthusiastic Deskside Support Engineer with a genuine interest in solving peoples IT issues. The successful candidate should be technically competent, possess good communication skills and be willing to collaborate with the wider IT support teams. Based in Reading, you will be supporting a customer who sets high standards for themselves and expects the same standards of FDS as their support provider. Day to day activities include resolving a wide variety of desktop software and hardware issues and requests, while minimizing disruption to our users. You are also the on-site hands & eyes support for the server, storage, telecommunications and network teams. Key Responsibilities: - Wireless assistance for Visitors & Local users - Printer fleet management - File & Printer server management - Ownership of tickets to resolution - Hardware infrastructure & Management (e.g. Laptops, PC's, Printers, Faxes) - LAN & WAN (e.g. Cabling, Cabinets, Access Points, Fibre, Switches) - CISCO IP Phone System - ASCOM Analogue Dect system - Local Access Control System - Video Conferencing Suite - Break and Fix activities - IMACs activities - Remote Satellite offices support - UCCX/QM call centre support - Sales Force Support Essential Skills: - Engineer must be happy to handle routine day to day tasks such as building PC's and network cabling while being capable of managing more complex people orientated tasks including vendor management and project management. - GCSE Maths & English or equivalent - Experience of Microsoft operating systems - Experience of PC Hardware and Software - Experience of a variety of IT and communications technology systems. - Experience and ability to Manage Hardware from delivery to users & Audit / Track Equipment - Ability to engage clients at all levels from users to directors & VPs This is an excellent opportunity to join us and as an employee you will gain access to a large library of training courses and accreditations to help further your skills and development.
