Web Development Engineer Altium Associates is working with an exciting SME which is looking for a Web Development Software Engineer to develop their UI and ensure back end compatibility. We are looking for proven commercial delivery, ideally on similar projects, or very strong theoretical skills combined with proven problem solving skills and limited commercial exposure. The role will have high visibility within the company framework, along with the opportunity to lead and develop a bespoke UI for their system. For this, we are looking for someone with strong front end development skills, and experience/understanding of working also with PHP, Ruby or Python on the back end. Required skills & experience: - Specification, design, development and maintenance of advanced UI features - Exposure to back end development in languages such as Ruby, Python or PHP - Database design in collaboration with other team members. - Conducting code reviews as per the company standards. - Active participation in the team's Agile (SCRUM) development process and other company-wide processes. - Demonstrable experience in development using HTML5, CSS3 or JavaScript. - Good understanding of libraries, frameworks and tools such as Rails, Sinatra, DataMapper, RSpec, PrototypeJS. - Experience developing on Linux based environment ideal - Familiarity with TDD, CI tools and issue tracking tools. - Familiarity with version/release control is required.
