A small therapeutic school for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMHD) is currently looking to recruit a fully qualified primary teacher, full time starting from October half term. For this primary teacher role, you must have QTS and experience teaching students with SEMHD at KS1/2 level. Students will also have a range of other needs such as Autism, Dyslexia and Speech and Language Needs and therefore experience differentiation sessions to suit a range of needs will be beneficial. Primary teachers will need to plan and deliver sessions across the primary national curriculum.

The ideal primary teacher:

  • Has excellent subject knowledge of the primary national curriculum
  • Has at least 1 years' experience teaching in a PRU, Alternative Provision or mainstream primary school
  • Can use a range of behaviour management techniques
  • Has positive handling training
  • Has experience teaching to children with SEMHD, either in mainstream or a PRU setting
  • Has QTS

Based in Lambeth, near Vauxhall station, this provision caters for ages 5-16 across 3 sites and this role is on the primary site. They provide personalised learning and therapy programmes within a safe and stimulating environment. As a result of this, they are able to develop pupil's emotional wellbeing, willingness to learn, social and life skills, behaviour for learning and academic progress. The school has a wide range of specialist therapist on-site offering specific intervention personalised to meet the needs of each student, including art, play, CAMHs and OT.
