TRAINEE TELECOMS ENGINEER, CONTRACT, TRAINING PROVIDED Our client currently have 5500 exchange sites in the UK where they require service engineers to attend different sites on a day to day basis to support cabling activities. Engineers will be expected to carry out between 16-20 jobs in one day, usually this will be at one location but travel to other exchanges may be required should there be more than one requirement within a given area. Candidates essentially, do not need any experience in this field, however they must have a willingness to listen, learn and pass and accreditation prior to starting work alone. Applicants from Military or an engineering background would be ideal but this is not essential. Candidates must have the following:- - Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty points. - Own Transport (Car ok, no van required) - The Ability to pass a colour blind test - Able to work climbing ladders and work in confined spaces. - Eligible to go through pre-employment check (including Criminal record declaration and Disclosure Scotland). Our client will provide on-site training at the nearest available centre to the applicants home address. Following initial training the successful candidates will shadow an experienced engineer out in the field for the purposes of 'on the job' mentoring. Candidates who do not meet the require criteria after 3 weeks of training and shadowing will not continue on the project and will be released from the programme.
