Head of compliance and Controls London 8 months' contract £650.00 per day Role works in the Corporate Affairs team of DCC but works across the whole business to develop the enterprise management controls. The business is in a period where it is rapidly maturing from a single large project organisation into a national infrastructure business. The systems for managing the business and the controls in place over operations have been effective so far, but need to be step-changed. The systems and controls this role will have a role in developing will be: - Supporting the creation of an enterprise-wide PMO that will run all DCC activity - Developing risk controls, working with DCC's portfolio PMO to ensure programme and corporate risks are identified, mitigated and managed properly - Developing compliance checks and balances, ensuring that DCC meets its Licence, Smart Energy Code and legal requirements across all of its operations - Assessing the case for an internal audit function and options for delivery Role outline - · Carry out deep dive review of existing DCC controls incl requirements, policies, processes (this covers all Licence requirements, so therefore finance; corporate governance; security; reporting issues among other things) - · Set up project and plan to deliver enhanced controls that are embedded in organisation, prioritising biggest risk areas - · Identify the enduring team structure and skills needed, incl internal audit function - Design and implement MI and reporting that can be used by Risk and Compliance sub-committee, Executive Board and DCC Board - Work closely with the existing Risk and Internal Controls Team and also the Portfolio PMO Team to develop proposals to significantly enhance the maturity of the DCC systems. Experience - Working in a high compliance environment eg financial services, infrastructure (eg National Grid, Railtrack) - Worked in regulated business - Has led change in control and governance frameworks/ has created new frameworks - Influencer in particular to drive culture change - Resilient and happy to work in high pressure environment What's in it for you?
