About the Role

The purpose of the post is to work as a class teacher.

The post holder will be responsible for the learning, progress, health, safety and welfare of the pupils they teach, and take a share of the collective staff responsibility for all pupils.
*To plan, implement, evaluate and review in consultation with colleagues, a
curriculum appropriate to the aims and objectives of the school.
*To assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of the
pupils.
*To submit teaching plans and records of pupil progress to the Head Teacher.
*To organise and manage the learning environment in such a way as to support the
curriculum and promote the ethos of the school as defined in the School Mission
Statement.
*To plan, develop and maintain appropriate teaching and learning resources.
*To keep records on the personal and social needs of the pupils.
*To liaise, in conjunction with the Co-ordinator for Special Educational Needs and
the Head Teacher, with those outside agencies involved in the welfare, educational
or otherwise, of the children in the school.
*To implement the agreed school policies
*To take a share in the collective staff responsibility for maintaining the school
environment as defined in the School Mission Statement.
*To participate in Parents' Evenings, Open Days, Home-School Partnerships and when
appropriate Assemblies.
*To participate in team meetings relating to the curriculum of the school or the
administration or organisation of the school including pastoral arrangements.
*To participate in any arrangements, within an agreed national framework, for the
appraisal of performance.
*To undertake professional development and training.
*To take a share in the collective staff responsibility for promoting the ethos of
the school as defined in the School Mission Statement and for modelling behaviour
appropriate to that ethos.

Personal Qualities

*Qualifications Degree and qualified teacher status Experience
*Experience of teaching at Key Stage 1
*Knowledge and Understanding Theory and practice of providing effectively for the
individual needs of all children e.g. classroom organisation and learning strategies
Statutory National Curriculum requirements at the appropriate key stage
*The systems for monitoring, assessment, recording and reporting of pupils' progress
statutory requirements of legislation concerning Equal Opportunities, Health &
Safety, SEN and Child Protection.
*The positive links necessary within school and with all its stakeholders' Effective
teaching and learning styles.

Personal Skills and Qualities Ability:
*To promote the school's aims positively, and use effective strategies to monitor
motivation and morale Ability to develop good personal relationships within a team
*Ability to establish and develop close relationships with parents, governors and the
community
*Ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) to a variety of
audiences
*Ability to create a happy, challenging and effective learning environment
