Launch Engineer - Trim - Automotive I am looking for a candidates with depth Manufacturing Engineering Trim, someone who has knowledge of automotive supply chain within the Tier 1 plant, as well as facing off to the customer As a launch engineer working for a leading automotive company based Tiptree you will be responsible to lead manage and integrate the project manufacturing engineering functions for appointed projects. - To facilitate the Production Cell teams to deliver production to plan and to quality - To assess and implement Production equipment and tooling to plan and budget - To ensure all process and production documentation is complete and submittetd to APQP - To review processes and systems to plan and execute an improvement programme - To reinforce and enable existant HP Pelzer Group standards of operation and processes - To robustly drive Plant production performance and quality to consistent standards - To achieve customer satisfaction through effective team working and continuous improvement - To develop and sustain excellent relationships internally in Plant, and to Senior levels in HP Pelzer Group and with customers and suppliers - To control and drive the daily, weekly and monthly pre series production schedule - To coordinate with colleagues in Production, Quality and Logistics to achieve customer deliveries - To work with customer onsite representatives to eliminate open concerns and delivery requirements - To propose process optimizations, including their implementation in order to maximize the efficiency / savings / standardization - Champion continuous improvement activity by formation and management of Plant Action Teams - Maximise opportunities to minimise waste of all forms - Develop process and instructions for production of all work station output and train/ implemetn with Production Team - Champion strong communication within the department - To drive and sustain a safe place to work - To report status and progress to Programme Management - To develop and deliver product processes for right first time, compliant with customer and legislative specifications, to the highest quality standards in the most efficient process - To develop and deliver production equipment and tooling for right first time, compliant with production needs and requirements in the most efficient process - To stop the production if in conflict with the mandatory standards or legislation (production , supplies , etc. ) and immediately notify senior management - To manage and evaluate the work of production team to establish individual cell performance improvement objectives - To communicate with all stakeholders within the area of responsibility including establishment and daily inter functional Project and Operations meetings - To report the project manufacturing engineering budget and assist Plan/Project Management with the development of a Plant improvement plan - To review, recommend and assist with any training and development required for the Plant - To prepare presentations and attend customer meetings as required - To carry out any reasonable additional duties as required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: - Manufacturing Engineering development skills - Technical knowledge of current automotive trim processes and product - Excellent knowledge of advanced quality and continuous improvement tools - Good knowledge of Six Sigma or other process methodology - Experience at senior Launch and Manufacturing level in an automotive Tier 1 or OEM environment - Knowledge of relevant standards within the Automotive Industry ( VDA , ISO / TS , etc.). - Advanced knowledge of MS Office , Internet Explorer , ERP system (eg . SAP ), CAQ systems (eg . Palstat) - Excellent organizational skills
