Main Purpose of the Job

The post holder will be responsible for the development and growth of each of the programme areas to ensure that the curriculum not only meets the needs of employers and addresses local, regional and national skill needs but that students achieve at a high level and meet target grades. There will be an expectation of consistency of quality across all the courses with clear progression paths both within the College, into employment and into higher education. In doing so, the post holder will liaise closely with the Quality Team, Head of Faculty’s and Learner Support Officer

Responsibilities

·Oversee the curriculum of all internal and external programmes

·To develop an outstanding curriculum provision in all areas

·Contribute to the development and successful implementation of the operational curriculum and quality plans

·Provide curriculum related advice and guidance to support the quality of programme development

·Portfolio reviews maintain relevant and up-to-date course provision.

·Designated courses are sufficiently documented to meet the requirements of either Ofsted, Awarding Organisations any other statutory/professional body to whom NAC is accountable.

·Curriculum development and innovation is encouraged and supported.

·Designated courses are planned, delivered and assessed at their appropriate level within the Apprenticeship Frameworks, Qualification guidelines and Apprenticeship standards.

·To develop new and innovative methods of delivery relevant to learner/employer needs and increase the use of flexible and open, work based and distance learning

·Ensure that defined programmes operate within the requirements of curriculum assessment and examination regulations and in accordance with NAC policies

·Work collaboratively with other managers and staff in relation to planning, timetabling and staffing of joint programmes

·To ensure that course handbooks are available and up to date for all courses

·To ensure the availability of schemes of work and planning for teaching and learning are in place and are learner centred

·To ensure that ILT is increasingly used as a tool for learning in all programmes

·To ensure that assessment plans are consistent with NAC policies and that students have information about what standards and work are expected of them

·Ensure the maintenance of appropriate records

·Strategies for teaching and assessment are effective and implemented across designated courses/curriculum area.

·The quality of teaching in the classroom is observed, judged and recorded and results in actions for continuing improvement

·Ensure appropriate quality assurance checks are conducted within the curriculum area in line with College audit policies and procedures

·To support the implementation of improvement strategies resulting from regular learner/employer satisfaction survey

· To ensure completion of course reviews, using evaluation and learner voice information to inform improvement action plans which are monitored throughout the year

·Act as Internal Quality Assurer within the programme area including liaison with relevant awarding bodies and External Verifiers

·To work with other managers to ensure a consistency of approach to the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of responsiveness, effectiveness and efficiency

·To provide regular progress reports, highlighting any areas of concern on all relevant aspects of the business and learner activity to the Quality Manager.

ØTo ensure own training and development, including CPD, is up to date and compliant with relevant professional bodies.

ØTo support the ethos of NAC, its marketing and recruitment activities.

ØTo maintain the highest professional standards in accordance with the policies/procedures.

ØTo support the Company’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young adults and vulnerable adults.

ØTo travel as required meeting the requirements of the position.

ØTo carry out other duties as may reasonably be required by the Quality Manager
