The Special Needs Teaching Assistant The ideal Special Needs Teaching Assistant will need to have had, experience working with children with complex needs e.g. PMLD, ASD so are aware of the needs they will have. The children will also have varied levels of Autism and vary from verbal to nonverbal, so the ideal Special Needs Teaching Assistant will need to be adaptable in working with children at different stages in their learning. You will need to be able to support students on a one-to-one basis and support the teacher throughout the day. The Special Needs School Based in the London Borough of Croydon, this school caters to the needs of children from 11-19 years with SLD, ASD and PMLD. The school have a wide range of resources available to meet their children's needs including soft play rooms, sensory studios and more.
