My client, a leading FMCG brand, are looking to better utilise category insight data to enable their category function to focus and build key customer relationships. Forming part of a successful Category team, you will analyse and report insight and analytical data on market trends, industry statistics and consumer behaviour. You will build their category insight capabilities using Nielsen & Kantar Worldpanel data to help become the chosen Insight partner for all their customers. You will identify key trends and opportunities across the Category and collaborate with Category Managers, brand marketing and sales teams to develop recommendations which will deliver category growth.

The Category Manager will be responsible for assisting in developing marketing strategies and programmes which will position category thought leadership, drive strong return on investment and sustainable revenue. The successful candidate will achieve this by interrogating weekly & monthly brand and category performance data and shopper / retailer insights. You will create Category Dashboards which highlight key business performance drivers and you will review shopper and promotion activity to make recommendations to achieve the best return on their investments. You will create new and inspiring digital merchandising plans and in-store concepts to help bring the category vision to life and to engage customers to support their recommendations.
To be considered for this FMCG Category Manager role you will be a highly numerate professional with a background in Analysis and/or Category Management. Current working experience at a market research organisation like Kantar Worldpanel, Dunnhumby, Nielsen, Euromonitor or Ipsos are incredibly desirable. Above all, the successful candidate must have the ability to analyse and interpret complex multiple sources of data to identify issues, opportunities, insights and recommendations.
The role is paying up to £40,000 annual base salary plus competitive benefits.
