Hays Accountancy & Finance are currently recruiting for an well-established and growing manufacturing/supply business that are looking to recruit a hands-on and experienced Company Accountant to report directly into the Managing Director. Based in Gloucester on a permanent basis you will manage the day-to-day accounting processes and procedures for the companies two sites. A great opportunity where you can really impact a leading business working within a hard-working and small office environment. The company currently supply to the European/UK and American markets offering a bespoke and tailored approach to customers specific requirements.
Your new role
Your key duties will include processing management accounts, monthly VAT returns, EC sales list, nominal ledger accrual postings, petty cash and expenses payments. You will post purchase ledger invoices, calculate sales commissions, stock movement and intercompany purchases along with bank reconciliations and overseas payments. Along with this you will process payroll for the group, allocate cash, provide ad-hoc reporting and various financial projects for the Managing Director.
What you'll need to succeed
For this hands-on Accountant role you must have experience within a similar finance position with strong communication skills to build relationships internally/externally and be able to manage your own work-load efficiently. Ideally you will have experience with Sage 50 packages or Xero systems with key MS Excel skills and you must be extremely hands-on. It would be advantageous if you have worked within the Manufacturing/Supply sector previously.
