We are seeking to appoint for January 2018, an outstanding, driven and enthusiastic Head of MFL to our dedicated, supportive and ambitious languages department. We are looking for someone who is committed to securing high standards and has a proven record of raising academic achievement and outcomes.
This is a key appointment in the school, and you will be a critical member of the middle leadership team. As our Head of MFL, you will be passionate about your subject and about improving the life chances of your pupils through consistently outstanding provision and practice. We are looking for an individual who can motivate, challenge and inspire all our pupils, irrespective of background or ability, to be the best that they can be.
This would be an ideal opportunity for someone with experience in successfully improving a department, increasing the update of languages at Key Stage 4. As part of your role, you will be given licence to re-establish and grow the provision of French & Spanish across the key stages.
Holy Family has undergone a period of transition and is keen to build and develop upon the energy, vision and commitment shown by the new Headteacher since September 2016. The leadership team have a focused strategy that aims to secure an Ofsted judgement of at least Good by June 2019 and this is an excellent opportunity for you to play an active part in the further and sustained improvement of the school.
The languages department at Holy Family is a fully resourced department with a dedicated teaching area, comprised of the head of department alongside two part time language specialists. We currently offer French at KS3 and 4, and Spanish at KS4, and therefore the successful candidate for this position will be a French specialist, with the ability to deliver Spanish desirable, however not essential.

* Have successful experience of improving uptake of languages at Key Stage 4
