If you're a Software Engineer whose passionate about technology and looking to be involved in the full SDLC, including architectural and operations decisions in high-scale technical projects then this Software Engineer job may be right for you. The Job As a Software Engineer, you'll be working within a key Platform Engineering team being involved in the entire software development lifecycle; building, shipping, running, automating, testing, measuring and changing of microservices-based application & systems. Just some of your duties as a Software Engineer will be to containerise applications with Docker, standardise deployment mechanism's with Ansible and further define REST and API guidelines within the team and wider business. Currently the team is in a key a technical evolution, moving from monoliths and application servers towards containerised self-running microservices (in Docker), fronted with version API's. Using your strong technical understanding in Java, you will interact closely with fellow engineers & developers within the team being hands-on in areas of the project. Further to this, being a Software Engineer you'll interact closely with the Team Lead & Technical Architects who are the primary stakeholders where you'll be providing insight into technical roadmaps, architectural decisions & operations instructions. Tech Essentials - Strong Java engineering background - Good understanding in REST and RESTful practices - Experience using build tools (i.e Maven, Gradle, Ant etc.) - Experience using distributed version control systems (GIT etc.) - Passion for testing and continuous integration (Jenkins, Teamcity, Travis etc.) - Agile development experience (SCRUM, XP) Desirables - Experience using Spring (SpringBoot ideally) - Ansible experience - Bash scripting - Understanding in containerisation using Docker - Understanding of CD tools (Bamboo, TeamCity, Go etc.) - Believe in DevOps The Client This is a great opportunity to join a tech-driven, fast paced, multi-cultural online gaming company that has the feel and excitement of a startup yet the project size of a global business based in the heart of London.
