My client, a multidisciplinary Engineering consultancy is searching for a Road Safety Auditor to join their Traffic and Transportation team based in Bath. This exciting role will offer candidates the chance to join a UK wide body of road safety experts drawn from a diverse range of backgrounds that range from academia, emergency services, local authorities and private consultancies, to work with the Traffic and Transport team on challenging duties including Traffic Management, Parking Schemes and Traffic Calming. The Candidate must have: - 5 years' experience in a Road Safety role - Clear understanding of Collision Investigation and particularly Road Safety Auditing - Experience in Casualty Reduction, including the design, implementation and supervision of reduction measures - RoSPA qualification and TMS training - Ability to complete Road Safety Audits in respect of the UK Highway Agencies Standard HD 19/15 - Capability to lead meetings with clear communication and excellent presentation skills. Candidates will also need to motivate others during meetings and clarify any issues across departments - Ability to produce clear, concise reports - Effective decision making, which are supported by reasoned arguments - Independence to work with minimum supervision, whilst still demonstrating the ability to work in a team - Knowledge and experience of relevant legislation, standards and procedures - Computer literate with knowledge of relevant software including; Microsoft Office, Auto CAD, MAPInfo and GMAXI The Role: - Investigate and recognise which sites which have abnormal levels of collisions and to analyse overall trends - Efficiently handle workload on a range of duties including; Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders, Traffic Calming, Route Analysis, Road Safety Audits, Design and Implementation of Road Safety Schemes and Parking Schemes - Assist in designing and implementing cost effective remedial measures for specific sites using standard approaches as well as taking innovative measures - Conducting questionnaires, public exhibitions, presentations and focus groups - Undertaking Road Safety Audits at Stages 1 to 4 - Using and applying current/relevant legislation, design standards, codes of practice and other technical advice notes relevant to the field of Collision Investigation - Presenting reports for Traffic Management Units, Lead Member briefings and Traffic Advisory Panel meetings - Prepare advice for Councillors, other Directorates, Divisions and the public This role comes with a competitive starting salary, a company pension scheme and additional benefits.
