Early Years Practitioner

21 hours per week, term-time
Temporary up to 2 July 2018
£19,731 - £21,355 / £21,958 - £24,038 pro rata (including Distant Islands Allowance)

We are looking for a qualified Early Years Practitioner to join our Early Years team in various Early Learning and Childcare settings. The role will include working across a number of settings to release existing Practitioners for development work. This will include working in a session and supporting the lunchtime for children aged 2 and 5 years.

To be appointed at G5:
You should have a good general standard of education including literacy and numeracy and
you are also required to achieve an HNC in Early Education and Child Care, SVQ Level 3 Social Services (Children & Young People) or other recognised qualification that enables registration with the SSSC as a Practitioner (Day Care of Children) within 3 years of taking up post. You must also register with the SSSC, within 6 months of appointment to the post, as a Practitioner in Day Care of Children.

To be appointed at G6:
You should hold a recognised qualification that enables registration with the SSSC as a Practitioner (Day of Children) e.g. HNC in Early Education and Child Care, SVQ Level 3 Social Services (Children & Young People) or other recognised qualification that enables registration with the SSSC as a Practitioner (Day Care of Children). You should also be registered with the SSSC as a Practitioner in Day Care of Children, or where new to employment as a Practitioner in Day Care of Children, register within 6 months of taking up post.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
