An excellent opportunity has arisen at a vibrant and dynamic firm of Chartered Accountants and business advisers based in Blackburn. The firm currently have ambitious growth plans and were recently placed in the Top 10 of the 2016 Accountancy Age Top 10 UK Employers.

The ideal candidate will join their growing Corporate Services team as an experienced Senior. The Corporate Services team works with a wide range of exciting and interesting clients - principally owner managed businesses and corporate subsidiaries, law firms and charities. The firm are seeking a part qualified, newly qualified or qualified (ACA or ACCA), looking to progress their career and have experience of working on a wide range of accounting and auditing assignments.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • To lead audit assignments of clients of varying sizes and across many sectors
  • To understand and review corporate tax computations
  • To control the production of accounts for your clients
  • To work on special projects with our corporate finance and tax teams
  • To actively support other members of the Corporate Services team
  • To build strong mentor/client relationships

  • Reporting and performance management:

  • Reporting to the Corporate Services Managers/Partners
  • Regular performance reviews, including post job reviews and mentoring alongside an annual personal development plan, to ensure development is maintained to help you reach your full potential
  • Their ideal candidate will:

  • Be working towards or have attained the ACA or ACCA qualification
  • Have strong accounting and audit skills
  • Have had responsibility for supervising a team
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills as there will be contact with clients at all levels
  • Have good organisational skills as well as the ability to take initiative and contribute to the effective running of the department
  • Have knowledge of recognised software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
