Technical Delivery Manager required to join global law firm, the role sits across the Global Technology Services (GTS) team of which the Infrastructure and Business Applications teams act as the delivery mechanism for project work of which the Technical Delivery Manager will be the global owner for GTS projects delivery. The role has complete ownership & responsibility for ensuring all technical project delivery is actioned, technically owned and reported to both the Projects & Programme team & IT Management & Global Leadership Teams. The role will act as a deputy for the CTO, focusing on resolving technical issues/risks and improving the throughput of projects delivered to time, their quality and financial accountability. The Technical Delivery Manager will have a quality assurance capability as the role provides line management for the test team lead, there is also a need to matrix manage across the GTS team leaders and existing external testing suppliers to ensure deliverables are met to time, quality and budget. The role will provide resolution management for Technical issues for the global projects that the GTS teams deliver, and this will involve working closely with the Architecture Manager for design verification, Regional Managers for service delivery and the Projects and Programme team for larger project delivery. Main responsibilities: - Act as a deputy to the CTO focused on the delivery of GTS projects. - Liaise with key internal project stakeholders to identify needs, facilitate technical solutions and deliver solutions. - Provide resolution management and decisive decision making for GTS projects through strong technical leadership. - Provide a governance and advisory role for large global projects. Liaising with senior managers and technical leads along with key suppliers and service providers in providing suitable solutions and IT services. - Work closely with vendors in delivering high quality support services and ensure global compliance to required legislative, data and technical standards through suitable applications, technology and business processes. - Work with IT staff world-wide to assist with practical guidance on engaging GTS for small to medium project delivery and aid in helping regional managers deliver suitable services to their operations - Help IT transform and adopt new services and structures, operating models and tools to aid in better service to our clients - Focus on cost reduction opportunities and improved service and quality initiatives - Other duties and responsibilities as required Technical skills: - Extensive experience working with enterprise technologies - Active Directory (multisite) - Windows Server platforms - Citrix and VDI (XenApp, NetScaler and Xen Desktop) - Mobile (MobileIron) - SQL Database Systems - Data Management Tools (Backups, archiving, monitoring) - Cloud services (private) Advantageous: - Document Management Systems - Core Infrastructure & Network experience (Networking (Cisco), Compute & Storage (Dell EMC VBlock) - Practice Management Systems - Business Process Systems Qualifications: - Minimum of 3 years' experience (at consultant / manager level) or Technical background supplemented with heavy infrastructure experience - Strong knowledge and active use of one or more of the following: PRINCE2, Agile, SCRUM, MSP - Strong knowledge of infrastructure procurement, design and implementation globally through practical experience - Strong knowledge of mobile - Understanding of the 'technology stack' from infrastructure through business logic and applications - Knowledge of major technologies (legacy to emerging) - Knowledge of and passion for technology trends e.g. Mobility, Cloud, Digital, Collaboration - Experience in estimation techniques for infrastructure and applications tasks, helping SME's schedule work break down charts - Exposure to resource management tooling and project management tools
