Job description Development Lead/Team Leader (Sitecore and/or Umbraco) Role Duties / Tasks This is the list of duties we would expect the candidate to perform on a regular basis; - Leadership As a senior team member you will be expected to handle the day to day line management of senior, mid & below developers within your team, handling goals, appraisals, performance evaluation along with real mentoring skills. - Recruitment Candidate suggestion, vetting and first stage interviews will be part of this role; if candidates are successful with the technical stage of interviews, TD and wider team members will become involved at the second stage. As a team lead, your feedback on the current development team shape and staffing levels will be requested and listened to by TD and management. - Code Standards & Processes You will be required to set & maintain team standards, ensuring that all members are keeping to our guidelines. As part of the wider process work, you will be heavily involved in deployment pipeline configuration, working with static analysis tooling, build methods etc. With the introduction of peer reviews on projects, you will be included in these regularly to keep a consistent eye overall and help keep standards high. - Client Involvement As a leadership team member, you will be involved in the wider life cycle of a project. This will mean being involved in client meetings, requirement gathering, estimation, pitch stages and more. You will be acting as a representative of the company in general, and in particular the voice of the technical team. This will mean contributing to the discussions, providing constructive feedback and offering suggestions and new approaches to help our clients and work. Most importantly, we need to ensure what we produce is always improving, by adding value to what we receive to create a better product that we can all be proud of. - Responsibilities include the development of custom business web applications/controls and support/maintenance of existing custom applications/controls. - Advanced analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills along with strong related technical skills, and a history of successfully operating as part of a team that organizes, plans, and executes large-scale projects or assignments from vision to implementation. - Able to work independently and solid teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to work on cross-functional project teams and maintain team commitment to tasks. - Broad conceptual knowledge of information technologies and methodologies in server / client applications, Web Technologies, PC computing environments desirable; in-depth experience in one or more is critical. - Can-do positive attitude. - Assist the Solution and Technical Architects, UI Designer and Front-end Developer in delivering the Functional Specification for .Net/Sitecore projects by giving technical guidance based upon digital experience in .Net & Sitecore, but also from general experience of web development techniques. - Lead the Sitecore /.Net Solution Architect while writing the Technical Specification for .Net/Sitecore projects alongside the teams other Solution & Technical Architects - To assist in the management of the various environments. - Become an integral member of the development team by ensuring units of development are properly tested and function correctly before presentation to the client and to ensure bugs are fixed in a timely manner - To assist the PM and Solution and Technical Architects in presenting completed development to the client and assist with any technical questions that may arise Skills / Expertise 5 years or more experience, with significant percentage at an agency or similar environment - Experience working within an agile environment - Capable of planning and executing complex systems such as booking engines & ecommerce sites - Experience using an industry standard development process (TDD / BDD) - Advanced experience of Git and methodologies (git flow in particular) including CLI usage - Advanced experience of C# - bonus for tools like xamarin - Experience of MVC principles, repository patterns & similar patterns - Advanced server and infrastructure experience for tools such MSSQL & IIS - Advanced experience with tools like linq - Advanced Sitecore experience / and or Umbraco including global multilingual installations and sitecore XDB personalisation - Experience of using and creating RESTful architecture and external APIs - Experience with unit testing & automated testing frameworks - Advanced experience of setting up, creating and using build tooling in a CI / CD workflow - Experience with system orchestration & administration tools (puppet / chef) - Knowledge of technologies such as Docker We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnerships, pregnancy or maternity or age.
