Reporting to the Director of Financial Operations, the Divisional Finance Manager will lead a large team of finance professionals dealing with the operations and activities of the companys General Accounting Team supporting the Retail business. Within this role you will be responsible for the core finance activities of the team whilst fostering a culture of best practice and performance improvement and contributing to the wider success of the Financial Operations function reporting into the Director of Financial Operations. The Finance Manager will have overall accountability for managing the supply of General Accounting support services to meet daily, weekly monthly and annual demand.

With strong reporting experience you will supervise the period end close and reporting process, oversee the timely review of P&L and BS control account reconciliations, ensure the timely completion of management reports (e.g. Flash reports, KPI, etc.) and preparation of statutory accounts harnessing technical knowledge and a high degree of judgement to support the General Accounting team. You will also oversee the timely review of regulatory reports using strong knowledge of specific regulatory requirements (e.g. OFCOM, OFGEN, OFWAT, ONS etc.), always remaining responsible for the quality and integrity of accounting data and reports. Within this role you will also provide accounting support for specific project related activities, such as preparation of acquisition completion accounts, chart of account changes and requesting updates to reports as a result of new cost centres.

To be successful in this role, you will be degree educated with a strong background in management of a General Accounting environment and experience of delivering a continuous improvement agenda. You will be a fully qualified accountant with 5+ years Post Qualified Experience in an operational finance role with exposure to issues of similar complexity. It is essential you are able to develop, motivate and lead a diverse team. We’re looking for someone with excellent knowledge of current regulations including IFRS / new UK GAAP, Companies Act and Regulatory Licences.
