Finance Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Production of monthly management accounts submitted to the US corporate head office within a short 2 day timetable
  • Reviews and analyses financial data for accuracy; identifies and solves more complex problems (i.e., identifies and corrects financial system errors, evaluating alternative accounting methods); and supports day-to-day operations of the department/division
  • Reconciles and confirms general ledger accuracy, including preparation of journal entries and account analysis. Prepares monthly accounts. Recognizes, recommends and corrects general ledger discrepancies
  • Develops approaches and enhances methods to expedite both the month end close process identifies problems while and developing recommendations, designs for improvement. Following up with implementation of improvements
  • Processes summarizes and reports on advanced financial transactions in order to provide accurate, timely and useful information to management
  • Responds to requests for financial information, account detail and transaction history from supervisors, department managers, upper management, and employees from other divisions/ departments to be used in measuring, planning and controlling business operating expenses
  • Keeps abreast of changing accounting practices and uses financial software to maximize departmental efficiencies
  • Aiding with the implementation of a new ERP software system
  • May serve in a lead capacity on special projects, mentor and training co-workers
  • Aid VAT specialist in the production of all European VAT returns, EC sales Lists and intrastate
  • Corresponds with tax authorities, outside auditors, headquarters management and others as needed to correctly report financial information
