Job Title: Financial Controller (Maternity Cover)
Business Area: Finance

To provide full support to the Finance Director in the day to day management of the whole finance function with key responsibilities to maintain and prepare the management accounts for the group businesses, day to day cashflow management and forward forecasting, preparation and maintenance of the company payroll and day to day management of the sales and purchase ledger functions

  • Reports to the Finance Director (FD) directly
  • Contact with the All business as required
  • Interacts with the all business areas as required

Scope of Job

  • Preparation and consolidation for review and sign off by the FD of the management accounts for all group businesses including supporting commentaries.
  • Completion of the day to day cashflow as well as preparation of the rolling 3-month cashflow forecast in line with the annual budget.
  • Authorisation and review of the monthly payroll from information supplied by the business ensuring correct processing, submissions to HMRC and set up and payment of all employees.
  • Handling all HMRC dealings with regards to PAYE and VAT returns including preparation and submission.
  • Provide support to the FD in preparation of the annual budget.
  • Responsible for preparation and control of all year-end files for audit for all locations (UK, Malaga, Panama and Ireland.
  • Preparation of ad-hoc financial information and analysis as required by the FD
  • Ensure adherence with the company processes and procedures
  • Ad hoc requirement to provide cover for the FD for periods of absence
  • The profile is not an exhaustive list of activities that the role holder may be required to undertake. The company may require the role holder to perform other duties as the Company deem necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role.


A recognised accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA is acceptable and a requirement. Study support would be offered for the right person who is partially qualified and wishes to finish off their studies. At least 24 months previous experience in the same role would be required.
