Contract Type:12 Month Fixed-Term Maternity Cover Contract - Full Time

(37 ½ hours per week)

Responsible to: Senior Manager (Marketing, Communications and Digital)

Location: UK Head Office (Gloucester)

This role will allow you to make a real difference and have a huge impact on managing measurable marketing campaigns which have a direct impact on generating sales.

The Marketing Lead (Digital and Campaigns) will co-ordinate the digital and marketing campaigns across the Mike Burton, England Rugby Travel and Lions Rugby Travel companies to deliver the agreed financial targets. A huge degree of accountability, pride in work and ownership of delivery is needed to succeed in this role.

The role will report to the Senior Manager (Marketing, Communications and Digital) and the successful candidate will have experience of planning, creating and delivering effective and complex digital projects and marketing campaigns to both consumer and business audiences, as well as strong knowledge of the overall digital environment.

This position requires experience and knowledge in agency and supplier management, campaign creation, planning, delivery and the measurement process, as well as how to deliver effective sales focused digital projects and campaigns. Experience of working within travel, events or sport would be an advantage but not essential.

The role will require excellent campaign, planning, relationship and people skills. The successful candidate will have demonstrable project management ability and have the expertise to work on multiple projects at any one time. The position will work closely with other Marketing members

Lions Rugby Travel (

Lions Rugby Travel is a joint venture business between British Lions Limited and the Mike Burton Group which was created to manage the Official Travel Programme for the British and Irish Lions, which includes supporter tours, the special event programme in both the UK and Ireland and on Tour, all ticketing management and support for the team logistics.

Team GB LIVE Travel

This exciting new relationship with the British Olympic Association offers official travel, tickets and event solutions to Team GB supporters. The appointment, which covers both winter and summer Olympic Games, grants the rights to operate under the Team GB LIVE brand due to be launched in May 2017.

ICC Travel & Tours (

Appointed by the International Cricket Council as the sole UK agent for domestic ticketed travel packages to the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017 and the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2019.


Marketing and Campaigns

·Lead on the creation, co-ordination and delivery of innovative marketing campaigns, maximising the output from the team and ensuring the right messages and products are positioned to the relevant target audience in a timely manner with a keen eye on Return on Investment (RoI)

·Take full ownership of the production of campaigns in agreed formats, liaising with the rest of the marketing team, as well as event, operations and legal departments to ensure compliance and managing multiple agencies to ensure a consistent output for greater RoI

·Using Microsoft Dynamics CRM to mine and develop customer data to deliver industry leading email campaigns, returning above average open and click through rates

Digital Development and E-Commerce

·Working closely with in house digital specialist to ensure consistency of campaign across all media, including social media

Enhancements and Development

·The role will be at the heart of continuous improvement - from developing, maintaining and sharing best practice, through to taking an active role in embedding new ideas and industry-leading practises and new processes in the marketing, communications, content and digital team

·Work with all relevant internal and external stakeholders to drive enhancements across the delivery of the department

Skills and Experience

·At least three years experience in a marketing role that has created and delivered consumer and/or business facing marketing campaigns, across most of, if not all, of the areas of responsibility

·Well developed project management skills

·Strong people management skills both in terms of internal teams and external stakeholders

·An effective communicator with first class communication and presentation skills, approachable and leads by example

·Excellent administration skills, highly organised and possessing strong attention to detail

·Proven ability to work and deliver under pressure and on multiple campaigns at a time
