Business Systems Analyst We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and professional Business Systems Analyst to provide and support Systems for the Property and Castings businesses within the Group and liaise with colleagues within Group IT working for other businesses to share standard processes and procedures. The core work will be to analyse business requirements and implement improved or new applications following thorough testing and training. You will also support applications to meet service levels required by the business through working with both internal staff and third party support companies. Key Accountabilities - Work with all departments to analyse business needs, identify solutions, prepare plans, develop solutions, test, implement, document, troubleshoot and provide support. - You will work with all areas of the businesses including Sales, Purchase, Stock, Manufacturing, Finance and all the data within the ERP systems and data exchanged with other applications. - Typically work on several modules at the same time. This will involve conceptual thinking, planning, organising internal and external staff, leading meetings, documenting requirements and an ability to link information from different parts of the system to ensure implications of any change are well understood. Implementing solutions in different areas of the business will require a range of interpersonal skills including confidence, persuasion, guidance and an ability to train people of all levels. - Manage developments using project management procedures ensuring planning, communication, testing and training hence delivering within timescale, quality, cost and security. Provide regular communications for all interested parties who will be affected by any change and demonstrate high quality interpersonal skills including training and producing user guides suitable for ISO certification. - Build and support applications including the technical infrastructure, data management, high availability and meeting agreed service levels through working with suppliers and the infrastructure team. Generate new or enhanced reports through in house tools or preparing specifications for third parties to develop. - This role requires a highly capable business analyst who can manage projects/tasks along with supporting existing applications and has the ability to change as the business needs evolve and change. Other information - Work with, and influence, staff in multiple locations and potentially Internationally. Arrange regular communications via phone, email and VC with a potential to travel to UK or International locations. - The post holder will work flexibly to ensure that application support is available when required. This may involve participation in an on call rota to respond to issues to critical services therefore some extended daytime and weekend working will be necessary. - To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required maintaining or improving the efficiency, quality and service provided by the IT Department. - Continually enhance your skills and business knowledge through project work, self-study and company sponsored training if required to meet business objectives. Experience & Knowledge - Enhancing and supporting a complex commercial business using an ERP system implementing process improvements across a number of business areas. - Lead and guide multi-disciplinary teams of people through change - Improve customer satisfaction by working closely with people from all departments. - Managing projects to successful completion including testing, training, guides, cutover. - Plan and manage own workload to agreed standards and budgets with structured reporting of progress - Technical knowledge to deliver agreed performance, resilience, service level and security - Experience of working to ITIL best practice - Application security and Data protection The following are desirable skills: - Full project lifecycle; design to operation of a major ERP system - Manhattan Property management ERP - Synchro ERP - Pegasus Opera - MS Dynamics AX ERP - Hyperion and group finance consolidation - Managing vendors to obtain value for money services Qualifications - Degree or equivalent though professional qualifications or experience Desirable Qualifications - MCDBA - MCSE\ MCITP - Project Management - ITIL certification Skills - Able to build good relationships with all departments through good communication, training and presentation skills - Ability to communicate effectively with project team members, staff and clients at all levels. - Able to work independently and within a team environment including effective knowledge sharing - Planning, organisation, prioritising and meeting service levels - Effectively managing support calls - Problem solving and judgement - Resilience and flexibility Desirable Skills - Business Analysis certification - Crystal reports, SSRS, or BI reporting - Oracle or SQL Database management
