SEND / Supported Studies Lecturer - Motor Mechanics This is a part-time, 0.7 post Location: Based in Stevenage and across sites in Hertfordshire We are looking for a qualified Lecturer to join the Supported Studies Department of one of the most reputable colleges in the UK. The Supported Studies unit is a specialist department which offers full-time, entry level programmed to students aged 16-24 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You day to day duties as a S.E.N.D Lecturer will include: - Preparing and delivering sessions to prepare students for adulthood by equipping them with the experience and skills needed to access higher education or supported employment - Ensuring students are prepared for their assessments, supporting them through the course - Supporting with the study and employability programme delivery across the college sites, ensuring a high standard of delivery - Working with the curriculum lead to develop and oversee assessments and embed Maths and English study into the course - Actively contributing to staff, department, and team meetings - Delivering a multi-faceted curriculum, including carpentry, metalwork, cycle repair and motor vehicle In return, the college is offering a salary of £25,000-38,000 along with a great holidays package. You would also qualify for a Teachers' pension scheme, and additional benefits including participation in the company's performance related pay scheme. The ideal candidate would have the ability to motivate students to maximise their learning potential, as well as the ability to work as part of a team to shape the department. Skills and experience required for the Special Educational Needs Lecturer: - Experience working with students with SEND - Experience delivering a multi-skilled curriculum - A degree (or equivalent) in a related subject - You must be a fully qualified teacher with a PGCE or DET - Have a passion for engineering and the ability to share this with students - Maths and English GCSE grade A--C - Vocational experience of delivering Level 3 qualifications The vacancy is being managed by Pertemps Newcastle Keywords: SEND, Teacher, Lecturer, Tutor, Multi-skills, carpentry, metalwork, cycle repair, motor vehicle
