Job Title: Project Planner. Location: York. Salary: £35-40,000 per annum, negotiable dependent upon experience. Start Date: October / November 2017. Planner / Project Controls / Primavera P6 Rail / Commercial We are currently working alongside a leading global Engineering organisation, as they search for an experienced and enthusiastic Project Planner to join their expanding team in York. Our customer is a leading service provider in Project Management Construction Management (PMCM), delivering projects at all stages from initial studies, design through to construction and maintenance, across the UK and also internationally. Their projects span a number of sectors, including Rail, Highways, Water / Utilities, Energy and Aviation, all of which are of critical long-term importance to the general public, local and national economy and industry alike. Our customer provides support for a wide range of clients including government departments, local authorities and major contractors. Their Project Controls team based in York are currently searching for a Project Planner to join their busy team. The team are currently working on the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) which is a £multi-million, multi year programme within the UK's rail sector focusing on the upgrade of rail infrastructure in the North of England. As such, we are looking for someone who can thrive in a busy team and is excited by the challenge of working on one of the most prestigious rail projects in the UK. We anticipate that the successful candidate for this position will hold responsibility for the following tasks and activities: *liaise with sub-contractors and suppliers to organize the phases of the Construction Development. *create, maintain, review and administer construction schedules and plans. *liaise with the production and technical teams. *ensure the progress of the project is running to timescales and cost plans. To prove successful within this fantastic new opportunity, we anticipate that the successful candidate will have the following skills, knowledge and experience: *previous experience on major multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects. *strong planning and scheduling knowledge. *experience of using Primavera P6, including resource and cost loading, generating Earned Value reports as well as graphic and tabular progress reports. *good working knowledge of MS Excel: Table (Vlookup, Filtering, Data manipulation & summarisation) and Excel functions. General computer literacy in MS Office and MS Project. *excellent report writing and presentation skills - accurate and concise. *ability to develop programmes from first principles as well as critical interrogation of suppliers' programmes. *good understanding of design process.
