Service Engineer (Ex Forces/ Plant/ Vehicle Technician) Loughborough£25,000 to £30,000 + overtime paid at premium rate + NO On call + Training + Van + Pension + Healthcare plan +28 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays) Monday to Friday (8 am to 4:30 pm)Service Engineer required for a well established plant hire company. The company offers a high quality service to all customers and as a result has a great reputation within the industry. The successful candidate will have the chance to benefit from manufacturer training, No call out and a competitive basic rate of pay. The ideal candidate will have good mechanical and some basic electrical experience. The successful Service Engineer will have worked on engines, diagnostics, hydraulics and fault finding. They will need to be able to work on their own or as part of a team when required. Good customer service skills, forward thinking and a can do attitude is a necessity. Any experience working as a general automotive technician, HGV mechanic, in mobile plant, forklift, or from an ex forces military vehicle engineer background would be highly suited. The Service Engineer position will be field based working on a small patch within the Midlands. Service calls will be coordinated over the phone, so that the engineer doesn't have to come to depot morning and evening unless necessary. The majority of the Service Engineers time will be spent attending breakdowns and service calls. From time to time there may be requirement for the Service Engineer to help out in the workshop as and when it's particularly busy. There is overtime available and no expected call out. The company have a good client base and are constantly looking for ways to move forwards within the industry. The position on offer gives the successful Service Engineer the chance to develop their skill set further, or even break into the plant hire industry. The Service Engineer Role will involve: * Working on a small patch in the midlands area. * Attending service calls to fix and maintain mechanical and electrical components. * Helping out in the workshop, when there are no service calls or workload is high. * Dealing with customers and maintaining the company's high customer service. The Service Engineer will need to: * Have good mechanical and basic electrical experience. * Have knowledge of hydraulics, engines and diagnostics.* Be able to fault find and problem solve. * Have good customer service and communication skills. * Beneficial to have experience working as a general automotive technician, HGV mechanic, in mobile plant, forklift, or from an ex forces military vehicle engineer background.* Driving license.
