Secure your place here as part of a high-performing team, delivering exceptional quality products and services in this highly technical and advanced Manufacturing Equipment industry The Role They are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding team who are based in Cambridgeshire. Reporting to the R&D Mechanical Integration Manager, you will help to build core knowledge, best practices and design standards for the team. You will have a strong involvement (with test engineering colleagues) in design verification, testing and characterisation manage the marketing mix for the assigned Service Solutions and will be able to provide an accurate understanding of product requirements and the system architecture to the other colleagues working within the engineering team. The Person You, being the ideal Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will have knowledge and an exceptionally high skill level and experience in: * The fundamentals of mechanical engineering including: Mathematics and statistics, tolerance analysis, stress/strain, thermal and fluidic analysis * Design and tooling of mechanical components for manufacture using techniques including plastic injection moulding, metal casting, extrusion, machining and extrusion etc. * State of the art materials and associated manufacturing methods. Ideally experience of other advanced techniques such as MIM, CIM, additive manufacturing etc. * Mechanical modelling, optimisation and design tools (CAE) * Design and process FMEA. You will have experience working within the design and development of products involving precision custom mechanical components and the integration of electronics and/or fluidics and have completed at least one complete product development cycle, from concept through full design and development to successful market introduction and customer support. You will also clearly understand manufacturing methods for both rapid prototyping and mass production.
