We are supporting a successful design and manufacturing company Bolton to recruit an IT Support Engineer to work in an established IT Support team. Due to ongoing growth and development our client has increased their head count and want to recruit an IT Support Engineer who will be involved with a number of IT projects and existing systems. As an IT Support Engineer you will have a number of key responsibilities: - Provide advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of complex IT issues. - Providing 1st line IT user support to all colleagues - Manage the set-up of software systems installations for various computer applications and programs - Responsible for installing, maintaining, supporting and securing local area network - Provide support for all hardware resources and software applications - 1st Line and some 2nd Line support for fault-finding on computer/software and ensuring that they are rectified quickly - Develop relationships with relevant vendor support contacts and resolve problems with any computing equipment - Assist with network and server equipment, ensure that maintenance is conducted on a regular basis and resolve troubleshooting routine problems - Manage induction processes for new employees regarding hardware and software - Responsible for the maintenance of additional devices; printers and any other business equipment - Responsible for maintaining/upgrading and implementing of both digital and analogue communication systems - Define and implement network monitoring and diagnostic tools to provide optimum network utilisation statistics. - Perform any other related activities as may be necessary and required The skills we need in the new IT Support Engineer: - Must have experience of working with IT infrastructure including providing 1st line technical support- 2nd line an advantage but not essential - A background with working with Microsoft Office software and Windows operating systems - Will need a strong understanding of Virtual Machines and vMware Virtual environments - It would be an advantage to have experience of Microsoft SQL Server and databases - Must have a strong working history of troubleshooting networking protocols and technologies - Strong Analytical skills - Good at building relationships and customer focused. - Calm and focused under pressure - We require a degree or equivalent qualification in Information Technology. - Experience of presenting IT products to colleagues and staff In return we can offer an extremely competitive salary, an extensive benefits package, potential company bonus scheme, private medical insurance, pension scheme and a host of other incentives and enhancements.
