Commercial Counsel - Privacy Our client, a large retail organisation is looking to recruit for a Commercial Counsel to join the GDPR programme they are currently engaged in for a 12 month fixed term contract The Counsel will be working with the business to: - Develop and ensure data processing activity is legitimate - Create 3rd party vendor Data processing inventory, - Negotiating GDPR schedules/ clauses to all 3rd party data processing contracts and agreements - Validating legitimate grounds for personal data processing activity for all personal data activities, for example legitimate purpose - Creating an inventory of all privacy notices, cookies, privacy policies etc - Ensuring all marketing activity is legitimate - EG, consent is time stamped or legitimate purpose Coordinating and conducting consent validation exercise (soft opt-in), ensuring marketing preferences are accurate for sms, email, post, app notifications etc. - Assisting in developing internal controls and policies, retention schedules, deletion, paper documentation and disposal. - Designing test exercises/drills of all new processes and controls: our ability to meet data subjects rights: data breach management, subject access rights, right to be forgotten, right to object, etc within the deadline - Large contract renegotiation projects - Supplier- negotiation and strong drafting skills - Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a project environment - Can undertake AS IT compliance analysis work - In depth understanding of Data protection Act 1998, Privacy and Electronic Communication Regulations (PECR), The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) If you have the relevant experience and are interested to hear more, please apply promptly and I will contact you to discuss further.
