The Role - SEN Teaching Assistant to Support Autism In this SEN Teaching Assistant role you will be required to support children in either primary or secondary that are on the Autistic Spectrum. Some of these students will be nonverbal and so experience with different communication methods including Makaton, PECS or BSL etc. Some of the students may also have very challenging behaviour and so experience with SEMH or general behaviour difficulties is a must. You may also be required to support students on a 1:1 basis as well as in small groups in the classroom.
