The Company:

  • A successful clothing and footwear company are looking for a Product Developer to compliment their team. You will work within the product development team creating accurate specifications, manage samples and bulk production. Liaising with the design team and Far East factories to ensure that products are to specification.
The Role:

  • Creating accurate and detailed specifications.
  • Working with Designers and understand their needs.
  • Working closely with factories to ensure quality and social compliance is to the high standard required.
  • Knowledge of fit by reviewing all samples and amending where necessary.
  • Working to corporate calendar dates with critical path deadlines.
  • Creating clear and concise sample comments to be actioned by the factories.
  • Keeping all style files up to date and in line with trading standards.
  • Reviewing supplier AQL’s.
  • Arranging testing as requested by the Technical Manager or other members of the team.
  • Giving feedback on factories so that the gold/silver/bronze can be completed.
  • Helping with the completion of accurate comparisons styles on given product area.
  • Generating and approving FC labels.
  • Ensuring that samples/paperwork are archived and electronic data is accurate/up to date.
  • Resolving queries in a timely manner, ensuring awareness of any customer complaints.
  • Any other duties as required.
Skills Required:

  • MUST have a minimum of two years experience gained within a similar role.
  • Ideally have a degree in clothing technology/design.
  • Knowledge of pattern cutting, construction and manufacturing techniques.
  • Knowledge of fitting, garment construction and REACH guidelines.
  • Up to date knowledge of childrenswear safety regulations.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Illustrator and In Design
  • Organised, accurate and have a good eye for detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Require minimal supervision, taking responsibility for own workload.
