Objectives To proactively support activities which contribute to the company sales growth and achievement of sales targets. Support business development of strategic market customers. Reports To Lead by the Senior Internal Sales Engineer the role has a direct reporting line into the National Sales Manager and works together with the external sales team. Responsibilities: Technical Product Support - Offer high levels of technical product support, application expertise and industry knowledge to customers and Area Sales Managers in terms of product functionality, features, selection, markets and competitors. - Maintain high levels of expertise in our products and applications - Offer technical support to the distribution team when required. Business Development - Support business development opportunities with focus customers and strategic markets / industries including product support, selection and pricing. Targets and Objectives - To actively contribute to the achievement of the company sales growth target, maintaining/improving sales margins, improving customer satisfaction, maximizing stock turns and minimizing product returns Technical Sales Support - Provide correct and timely execution of administrative tasks eg reports, contracts, emails and quotes from the Sales Department - Provide customers and Area Sales Managers price and availability information for sales enquiries. - Define and agree customer specifications and pricing. - Calculate and setup price conditions using the calculation template. - Assist in the creation of clear sales information for customers and sales colleagues - Check and develop input presented by the Area Sales Manager using bespoke tools - Develop solutions in detail and create technical sales quotations and proposals using system architecture and sales tools (DSD, CAD and Visio packages) - Check prices, product numbers and discounts in detail and collect all information needed to enable the creation of a correct quotation - Together with the Sales Team, ensures a high quality and professional look of presentations and quotations. - Review customer orders prior to processing, to ensure technical and commercial aspects are correct. - Ensure on-time delivery of customer orders by assisting in stock management. - Assist in managing customer special prices, CRM database and optimizing stock levels. - Search constantly for good new opportunities. For new/unassigned customers perform initial evaluation, setup leads for the National Sales Manager to allocate for follow up. For assigned customers gather information and pass to the salesman assigned to the account - Participate actively in meetings with the sales team to discuss the progress of active projects; make progress reports, action plans and deliver actions to deadlines. - Ensure the input and maintenance of SAP, ERP and CRM - Act in accordance with the Company mission and vision. - Take over activities in absence of sales colleagues. - Contribute to a healthy working environment. - Make a positive contribution to realise 100% client satisfaction. - Ensure compliance with the Company's best practice and procedures. Skills & requirements of the employee: - holds a relevant University degree or other technical qualifications and direct experience, and has affinity with the role. (ONC/HNC/Degree) - has excellent technical, administrative and calculation skills. - has excellent communication skills across all levels. - works in accordance with the Company processes and guidelines and has knowledge of MS office packages, SAP ERP and CRM. - develops a healthy customer relationship, maintains the commercial interest at all times. - delivers a positive contribution to a good atmosphere and good results of the Sales Team. - is practical, creative, result-driven and provides high quality service. - is energetic by nature, works independently and knows how to prioritize. - works in a structured way, is goal orientated and enjoys delivering good results. - knows how to avoid errors and ensure quality under pressure. - treats all data and client information confidentially. - is client friendly and maintains the commercial interest at all times. Additional tasks may be required from time to time - willing acceptance and timely fulfilment at an acceptable standard of such tasks
