Head of Research and Evidence
Our client is a leading children's charity who are now looking to recruit a Head of Research and Evidence to manage a portfolio of research and evidence projects. This charity brings together practice development, policy influencing, research and children's voices to build a better childhood for children, especially for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged. They work across a range of important issues, influencing government policy, education, health and children's social care services and work with practitioners to provide creative solutions on a range of social issues. They are now looking to recruit a Head of Research and Evidence to manage a portfolio of research and evidence projects. Head of Research and Evidence £48,500 - £52,500 London Reporting into the Director of External Affairs you will be responsible for the management of a diverse range of research and evidence based projects across a range of substantive topic areas. You will have oversight and responsibility for formulating, and implementing research policies and procedures across the organisation in line with strategic plans. Research is at the heart of the charity work, and using evidence to influence decision makers and policy is fundamental to enabling the charity to achieving it aims. As the Head of Research and Evidence you will manage a portfolio of research and evidence projects while co-managing the research and policy team ensuring research activity is carried out in a child-centered way and is in line with strategic objectives. With a small number of direct reports, the Head of Research and Evidence will form part of the Senior Management Team and will lead on building relationships with research partners, government and other stakeholders and actively secure new partnerships and income. Other essential criteria include: Person specification - Extensive experience of working at a senior level within the voluntary sector, with experience of effectively engaging with internal and external stakeholders and working collaboratively with a number of partners. - Substantial experience in a range of methodologies, including analysing complex quantitative and qualitative data. - Experience of developing appropriate designs for large research projects; advising on the interpretation and understanding of research findings, and formulation of policy and practice recommendations. - Significate experience of successful development of research proposals, generation of research funding, and winning competitive research contracts via public tender. - Excellent understanding of current policy environment for children and young people and the link with research. - A commitment to children's rights, equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practices.
