If you want to join the world’s largest grassroots environmental organisation we’d love to hear from you. As regional campaigner for London you will be leading the development of our grassroots movement in London, supporting communities on the ground to deliver both local and national campaigns. You will support our local group network in the city on a range of environmental justice issues from Heathrow expansion, local authority divestment to saving green spaces. You will be expected to liaise with the mayor’s office, the Greater London Assembly, local councils and local MPs to help deliver campaign wins. You will build new and maintain existing relationships with a diverse range of civil society and community campaign groups, as well as maintaining a network of opinion formers and decision makers. As the key point of contact for Friends of the Earth on London issues you will be required to do local and regional media as well as promote our campaigns on social media. As an experienced campaigner, you will have good working knowledge of the region in terms of key opinion formers and decision makers, and an understanding of how to lobby and influence at local and regional level. You will be a strategic thinker with a great understanding of campaign planning. You will be experienced at supporting a diverse range of communities, including experience of working in ethnically diverse communities, to bring about change. You will have experience of recruiting campaigners and providing training for new and existing groups and their leadership.
