SEN Teacher - Speech, language and Communication NeedsIndependent SEN SchoolOutstanding OfstedKingston upon ThamesImmediate StartLong Term Contract 140 - 200 per dayWe are currently looking for a qualified and experienced teacher to join this outstanding independent school for students aged 3-19 with Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).This outstanding school is looking for an SEN Teacher with experience in working with similar needs. You would be expected to plan lessons that meet the needs of individual children within your class and create individual education plans for each child which you would be using to monitor progress and provide regular feedback to parents, carers and other members of staff.Students have access to a wide range of subjects and are usually working at a lower than average level. The school has a number of highly qualified therapists (speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and art therapists) and so you would be expected to remain in excellent communication with all staff.The school is looking for an SEN Teacher with experience in using communication aids such as PECs, Makaton and PODD books. Although experience is desirable, this school provides training at the start of the term and throughout the year in safeguarding, communication aids and behaviour management.To be eligible for this position you must be a qualified teacher with QTS and have an up to date DBS.
