Confirmation of Vacancy 4041TPP Job Title: Development Engineer Role: Development Engineer Job Description Reports to: Head of Research and Development Resources: None. Based: R&D team in Crawley, West Sussex Role Objectives: To deliver technical expertise to company new product development projects Key Responsibilities: General - Adhesive to the Company's design control and change control procedures - Play Technical Lead role in product development projects - Be involved extensively idea development, requirement capture, product design, verification and validation activities. - Generate and approve technical documentation in accordance to IHL SOPs and international standards - Manage and communicate efficiently with external design resources when required. - Contribute to improvement of Company's processes for Design Controls and Change Control processes Skills/Experience/Qualifications - Passionate with developing medical devices from early ideas or concepts to final products - At least 5 years' experience of development of medical devices - Knowledge of ISO13485 and 21CFR part 820 QMS standards - Knowledge of product risk management process particularly ISO 14791 - Knowledge of EN 60601-1: 3rd Edition (general electrical safety) and EN 62366 (usability) - Knowledge of EN 62304 (Software development life cycle) highly desirable. - Working experience in mechanical, electronics or embedded SW development for medical devices - Self-starter who is hands-on with attention to detail, good time management skills with versatility to adjust to changing priorities; - Good analytical skills and systematic approach - Proactive approach to problem solving with experience in FMEA and/or FTA techniques - Ability to work under pressure to ensure product is designed to the high standards - Strong team player and can work on his/her own initiative. - Experience of working in a small to medium sized company - Able to communicate across all areas of the business - Postgraduate Degree in technical / engineering disciplines. - Good at technical documentation and presentation skills. - Driving licence is essential Please apply through the link and we will call you to discuss the role before your details are submitted to our client.
