The successful candidate will have the relevant skills and experience specified below for this 6 month temporary contract based in London. Please Note: This assignment sits outside of IR35.
Job Description:Your role will be to ensure that financial information is accurately analysed and reported in order to inform decision making and commercial discussions.

1. Support Finance Manager
2. Monthly collation of Staff Recharges returns
3. Update monthly cost models for all projects.
4. Setup new cost models for new projects and provide the necessary training to PM
5. Raise Monthly Accruals / corrective journals
6. Actual spending v forecasts analysis
7. Deep Dives on projects / Provide challenge to PMs forecasts.
8. Attend Monthly Finance meetings with Head of Technology Services/Project Leads/PMs
9. Monthly Cashflow Return
10. 2017-18 Year-end Closure
11. Assist with Budget Preparation
12. Provide training, support to project teams – Staff Recharges / Cost Model / Accruals
13. Collate responses for Corp Finance
14. Professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
15. Proven ability to manage own time and meet deadlines.
16. IT Literate - strong Excel skills.
17. High level of accuracy and attention to detail required

Takes responsibility for the definition; documentation and safe execution of a single major project or a number of smaller initiatives; actively participating in all phases of the project. Identifies; assesses and manages risks to the success of the project. Effectively estimates costs; timescales and resource requirements for the successful delivery of the project(s) to agreed terms of reference. Ensures that realistic project and quality plans are prepared and maintained and tracks all activities against the plan; providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders; as appropriate. Monitors and forecasts costs; timescales and resources used; and takes action where these deviate from agreed tolerances. Ensures that delivered systems are implemented within these criteria. Manages the change control procedure; ensures that change is captured; impact assessed and approved and ensures that project deliverables are completed within planned cost; timescale and resource budgets; and are signed off. Gains agreement for revisions to the project(s) from project sponsors. Provides effective leadership to the project team ensuring that team members are motivated and developing their skills and experience. Takes appropriate action where performance deviates from agreed tolerances. Actively represents the project team; ensuring that effective relationships are built and maintained with the business. Ensures that own projects are formally closed and; where appropriate; subsequently reviewed; and that lessons learned are captured and actioned. Produces appropriate documentation to support these processes.
Experience Required:Over the next few months the Finance Business Partnering Team needs review and some reshaping. There are many drivers for this: ? MOJ National and Employment Strategies ? Changes in MOJ Digitech – strategy, organisation, functional leadership, transition from TTP ? Changes in MOJ Finance – new operating model, standards etc linked to Government Finance Profession reform. ? Resourcing and capability issues within the existing FBP team structure Support is required for 8-12 months. The requirement would be to: · Identify the key drivers and priorities in the list above and determine what that means for this specific team · Help design the offer from Digitech FBP to the business and the vision for the team. · Help to define the interface with commercial – noting that increased commercial capability is a key requirement of FBP · Review ways of working within the team – including interfaces with the Central finance team · Help to establish/refresh a team culture based on high professional standards and equally high business partnering/customer service capability. · Help finance professionals understand and deliver with confidence the ‘seat at the decision-making table’ intent. · Review finance management information packs and produce example new analytics to aid business decision making Person spec: ?
