An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced person to join our team as Care Home Manager.

Sherwood House is a purpose built modern care facility offering residential care for frail elderly or those with dementia (including permanent and respite). We are looking for someone who shares our vision in providing the highest standards, within a kind and compassionate environment and run in the most efficient way. This senior position requires a very unique and dynamic person. We are looking for someone who fully grasps the role of balancing the commercial viability of a home whilst maintaining a caring, safe and secure environment (demonstrable sound previous experience and capabilities in this area is a key requirement).

Our ideal candidate should be a naturally kind, approachable and patient person but who also has strong business acumen and is able to prioritise effectively throughout the day. The team at Sherwood House is seeking someone who is passionate about inspiring and leading staff and is able to juggle the demands of running a care home, building on an already excellent reputation for person centred care. You will be expected to work closely and effectively with other departments for all non-nursing responsibilities and therefore outstanding communication, time management and prioritising skills are essential.

Sherwood currently offers 35 single beds however with plans for expansion and therefore we are seeking an individual who is adaptable and ambitious in order to help us grow the company’s services.

Main duties:-

A priority for this role is managing the care home business and we are looking for someone who enjoys a challenge by expanding our customer base. You will need strong business acumen and a proactive approach to business promotion with health authorities and local social working teams within the ever challenging care environment.

To actively maintain a high occupancy levels, ensuring that the cost-effective financial performance of the home is met at all times. The successful candidate will need to have a proven track record of promoting a care home, together with vigilant ongoing appraisal of all services, systems and resources (this will include excellent quality assurance systems and value added services so that the Home is run to the highest standards)

Whilst Sherwood is currently a residential home, as part of the company’s development plans the home will become multi registered to include nursing care.

The role also requires some out-of-hours management support.

Essential Requirements:

  • Min 2 years experience as a Manager or 5 years experience as a Deputy Manager
  • Nursing qualification (and confident in your knowledge of CQC and other relevant regulations)
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Proven track record of running a successful and cost effective care home with high levels of occupancy
  • A naturally friendly, compassionate and enthusiastic personality
  • An excellent team leader and motivator, with outstanding communication and customer service skills

Remuneration:

Basic salary = £47,500 per annum

Guaranteed uplift = £2,000 per annum when occupancy reaches 30 places

Occupancy Bonus = £2 per night for the last 4 Beds, worth £2,920 per annum

Long-term career progression and an expected salary of £65,000 per annum once future development of Sherwood House into a 268 bed home has been completed
